These are 22 questions the members of John Wesley's Holy Club asked themselves every day in their private devotions over 200 years ago. They are still relevant today.

1. Am I consciously or unconsciously creating the impression that I am better than I really am? In
other words, am I a hypocrite?
2. Am I honest in all my acts and words, or do I exaggerate?
3. Do I confidentially pass on to another what was told to me in confidence?
4. Can I be trusted?
5. Am I a slave to dress, friends, work, or habits?
6. Am I self-conscious, self-pitying, or self-justifying?
7. Did the Bible live in me today?
8. Do I give it time to speak to me everyday?
9. Am I enjoying prayer?
10. When did I last speak to someone else about my faith?
11. Do I pray about the money I spend?
12. Do I get to bed on time and get up on time?
13. Do I disobey God in anything?
14. Do I insist upon doing something about which my conscience is uneasy?
15. Am I defeated in any part of my life?
16. Am I jealous, impure, critical, irritable, touchy, or distrustful?
17. How do I spend my spare time?
18. Am I proud?
19. Do I thank God that I am not as other people, especially as the Pharisees who despised the
publican?
20. Is there anyone whom I fear, dislike, disown, criticize, hold a resentment toward or disregard?
If so, what am I doing about it?
21. Do I grumble or complain constantly?
22. Is Christ real to me?

Prison Ministry Testimonies

Here are some amazing testimonies from Dan Webb with the Prison Ministry at King of Glory!

In addition to the direct feedback we receive from the inmates, here are 3 testimonies about the impact we are having at the Swannanoa Correctional Center for Women (SCCW). As you read these, please keep in mind that there are more volunteer programs and more "religious programs" at this prison than in any other prison in the entire state of North Carolina. So out of all of those other programs, here is what's being said about King of Glory's program:

1) Officer Morgan

She's in charge of the kitchen, which is a never-ending task involving many inmates who work in the kitchen preparing 3 meals daily for the 250+ women there plus the 50 or so ladies at the Black Mountain Substance Abuse Treament Center for Women. I was asking her a question and explained I was from "King of Glory". She really lit up and explained how all the ladies in the kitchen talk about King of Glory all day every day.

GREAT!!!

2) Margaret Newman

Margaret is an amazing JESUS-lover who is very called by God to do a LOT in the prison!

And Margaret is the one who calls all the "outside volunteers" (or "sponsors") like Jennifer and all the others who bring inmates out to church and other places. She has to call them to confirm the passes for the inmates to go out. She does not get paid to do this. Also, among many other things, Margaret personally takes many of the inmates out of the prison to church and different places. She called Jennifer recently to set up the pass for the inmate Jennifer was bringing to King of Glory to be baptized. She said, "By the way I just want you to know that I take a lot of these ladies out myself and they are always talking about King of Glory."

3) Susan Garland

Susan is the regional director for western North Carolina for Alpha. I met her last night. She does a lot of work in this same prison herself. When she found out I am involved at SCCW, she asked, "What group are you with?" I said, "King of Glory". Her face really lit up and she said, "When I'm in the prison doing Alpha with the inmates, they are always talking about King of Glory!" I am hoping to help get more inmates into Alpha at SCCW, and she is hoping to direct more to our program where they can get SAVED in the joyous fun atmosphere that we always have in our programs.

The People Together in the House

гэр булийнхэнтэйгэй, pronounced "gerbuliinhenteigei", is the Mongolian word for family. God spoke this to me in church a few weeks ago. Mongolian is my second language so the times when He speaks to me in Mongolian are very precious to me. This particular word struck me because while it means family, it is literally translated "the people together in the house" or "together with the people in the house". When I heard this word I was at church. I was in His house. He was encouraging and challenging me to press into my church family through difficult times. I thought it was bigger than just myself, though, and that my Daddy wanted His family to come closer together.

The registration deadline for "Unlocking the Heart of the Artist" weekend retreat is quickly approaching. Here is a special message from Matt Tommey:

Are you still on the fence? Yeah, I know, money may be tight right now, schedules are always crazy and taking time away for yourself to be creative may not seem high on your priority list. Let me offer these thoughts.

1) If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always gotten.

2) No one but you can make the decision to invest in yourself and your God-given creativity.

2) At the end of the day, people do what they want to do, period.

I know, you may be saying "Wow, Matt, that's hardcore." Yes, it is and here's the reason. I care too much about you and about your calling as an artist in the Kingdom just to let you sit back and keep thinking "One day, something's gonna happen and poof, it will all be different." That's just not true.

The time is now. I want to encourace you to make the decision to invest in yourself and your creative calling by coming to the "Unlocking the Heart of the Artist" weekend retreat. God does something when people from the same 'tribe' come together for an extended period of time to seek His face. His promise is to be among us, change us and give us vision for what's to come! I promise, your life and your creativity will be forever changed - not just because of a retreat, but because of God's heart to see you reveal His Glory in the earth.

Explore Hearing the Voice of God
Join Tom Gill on Wednesday evenings this fall to explore hearing the voice of God. This group will be studying the Word to build a foundation for interpreting dreams and visions. Please register in advance so that we can prepare enough notebooks for everyone. The first gathering will be on September 15th 7:00-9:00 pm.

There is a nominal fee of $15 for the Saturday afternoon workshop with Unleashing the Creativity of Heaven on July 24th. This is to cover the cost of supplies. Friday evening and Sunday morning services are free and open to the public.

Sunday, June 20th is Father's Day! Asheville Pregnancy Support Services has teamed up with the Asheville Tourists and June 20th is APSS day at the ballpark! Tickets for the game will be available at APSS for a discounted rate of only $5. Tickets can be purchased at the center or by calling 828-252-1306 and charging them over the phone.

The game starts at 2:05 PM. This is a fun way for the family to spend the day together and do something special for dad. Every ticket sold will benefit the ministry so you can't loose!

Local Asheville Church Hosts Night of Hope for those Impacted by Economic Crisis

Swannanoa, NC – February 10, 2010 - Thousands of families all around the Asheville area have been severely affected by the current economic crisis facing our country. Many have lost jobs, lost businesses, and even lost hope for the future of their family. The people of King of Glory Christian Church want to stand with them during this difficult time and offer hope!

The Night of Hope is an evening of encouragement and prayer for all those impacted by the economic crisis facing our region. Anyone who has been impacted by the economic crisis is invited to attend no matter their church or non-church affiliation. The Members & Pastoral Team of King of Glory Christian Church will be praying individually for each person and family that attends this evening, while offering them hope and encouragement for their life.

“We love our community and care about the families of the Asheville area.” said Senior Pastor of King of Glory Christian Church, Sam Fine. “It’s an honor for us to be able to offer hope and encouragement to people during this difficult time.”

Because of the large number of people expected, online registration is requested via the church website at http://www.kingofglorycc.com/nightofhope Childcare will be provided for those 6 and under. "Loving Our Kids on Purpose"

Loving Our Kids on Purpose shows you how to plant in your children the principles of the Kingdom of God and a heart for the Lord. The easily implemented plan gives you the tools to raise your children in the joy and fullness of the Lord Jesus. Rather than traditional approaches, this book teaches parents how to train children to manage their freedoms and protect their important heart-to-heart relationships.

Children were designed with the core need of freedom. To deny this or live ignorant of it eventually destroys the trust connection between parent and child.

Loving Our Kids on Purpose introduces paradigms, perceptions, skills, and ideas that help parents reduce fear by eliminating the tool of punishment and strengthening the hearts of their children to fulfill their destiny.

DANNY SILK is the Family Life pastor at Bethe l Church in Redding, California. He is also president of Loving On Purpose, a non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening families and communities at the local, national, and international levels. He and his wife, Sheri, have three children. They have also parented over 70 teens as group-home house parents and foster parents.

The class will be meeting on Wednesday nights @ 7pm starting Jan 6th thru Jan 26th. It is a DVD series taught Danny Silk at Bethel Church in Redding, CA.

Free childcare will be provided.

The Worship Studio is a community of artisans committed to helping artists engage the Holy Spirit in their creative expression. They sponsor classes, gatherings, conferences and experiential learning opportunities for artisans to grow in their faith and Spirit-led creative expression. In addition, The Worship Studio is committed to helping artists walk in wholeness - spirit, soul and body.
