What to Expect at King of Glory...
First of all, we want to say "Welcome!" to you and your family! We understand that it can be stressful looking for a new church home. Our desire is to make your experience at King of Glory one where you really feel the love of God and His people! We'd like to take just a moment to let you know who we are and what you can expect at King of Glory Christian Church.
Everything we do at King of Glory centers around our mission statement: Advancing His Kingdom in a Culture of Love and Healing. That's the mandate God has given us as a local church and to accomplish that, we center our life together around 5 Pillars of Culture.
What can I expect on Sunday Mornings?
Sunday mornings are our main weekly gathering. They are filled with excitement, fun, laughter, worship and love - for God and each other. Our services typically last about 90 minutes and include praise and worship, a message from Pastor Sam and opportunities for personal ministry. Sometimes we switch it up by including a drama, video or dance presentation.
What do I wear?
You can wear anything that makes you comfortable. Many of our people dress casually (jeans & t-shirt) and others feel comfortable more dressed up (sport coat and slacks). There's no 'dress code' - we're concerned about you, not what you have on!
What's the music like?
Our music is provided by our worship band, including drums, electric guitars, keyboard, acoustic guitars, percussion, and the like. Basically, what you're used to hearing on the radio everyday - pop/rock sound. We worship passionately and encourage people to be free in their expression of worship to God. Common expressions of worship include raising hands, closing eyes, singing, dancing and the use of banners.
Who's the pastor?
Our senior leaders are Sam & Eliza Fine. They have 4 children and live in East Asheville. Sam & Eliza have been in Asheville since they started King of Glory out of their house back in 2001.
What happens during the week?
During the week, we have several opportunities for ministry, relationships and outreach. Most people at King of Glory are involved in a Care Group or various Ministry opportunities. We encourage everyone to share life together by having dinner, getting together and 'doing the stuff'. We do not have a mid-week worship service.
Am I expected to give money?
No. If you're new to King of Glory, then please don't feel any obligation to give. We do teach giving as a normal part of the Christian life and encourage people to give according to the Biblical model of tithes and offerings.
Is there an opportunity to receive prayer?
Yes, at the end of every service, we have prayer teams available for personal prayer ministry. Just come to the front and someone will be glad to pray with you! We also offer Healing Rooms and Sozo Ministry during the week for more private and individualized prayer ministry.
What happens for children on Sunday's?
During the 9:00am service, children are welcome to worship with their familes or participate in Awakening, a time of worship geared toward families and children. At the 11:00am service, we encourage children to worship with their parents during praise and worship. Then, we take a brief break and invite ages 1-10 to participate in age-appropriate classes. Once the worship service is over, you are free to pick up your child at their classroom. You may visit them at any time.
